REAL IDAHOME TESTIMONIALS!

“Mike and his crew are absolutely amazing. When the gentleman came out to measure, he was very thorough and asked and answered a lot of questions. He made sure there wouldn’t be preventable surprises. The two guys that came out to install took their time and made sure everything was perfect and even took the time to answer my questions. I am extremely pleased with how my countertops turned out and all the hard work to make sure they looked awesome. The customer service before, during, and after was wonderful. They definitely know how to put the customer back into customer service. Thank you very much Mike and crew πŸ˜€πŸ‘” – Jeffrey E.

How to Measure Your Countertops for an Estimate

Getting an estimate for your new countertops is easy! While a professional will take exact measurements later, providing basic dimensions helps give a great starting point for pricing and material needs. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

βœ… Tape measure
βœ… Paper & pencil (or a phone/tablet for notes)
βœ… Calculator (optional)

Step 2: Measure the Length

  • Measure along the back edge of your countertops from one end to the other.
  • If you have multiple sections (like an L-shape), measure each section separately.

Step 3: Measure the Depth

  • Standard countertops are 25.5 inches deep (from the back wall to the front edge).
  • If you have an island or bar top, measure the full width from front to back.

Step 4: Account for Backsplashes

  • If you plan to include a backsplash, measure its height (typically 4-6 inches).

Step 5: Mark Sink & Appliance Cutouts

  • Note the location of your sink, cooktop, and any other built-in appliances.
  • These affect how much material is needed and help with layout planning.

Step 6: Sketch a Rough Layout

  • Draw a simple top-down view of your space.
  • Label measurements for each section, including islands or peninsulas.

Step 7: Send It In!

  • Take a clear picture of your drawing and send it along with your measurements.
  • If unsure, add extra details like edge preferences or special requests.
